I wrote this song on an acoustic guitar and went to Beach Road Studios to record it with well known producer extraordinaire Siegfried Meier. Siegfried and his studio were recently featured in a 5 page story in Professional Sound Magazine.

On January 24th, 2013 I brought my 12 year son along for the first time and he played guitar and bass on this track and did all the lead work.

We got to the studio at noon and I laid down an acoustic guide. I then added drums. I had never played this song before on the kit so I just went for it. I got it done in 1 - 2 takes. We spent around 3 hours tracking the entire song and took nice breaks to talk and eat and let Talyn play some of the great guitars on the wall. We didn't rely on protools trickery to correct everything, (well maybe the odd fart ha ha ) so what you are hearing are real takes from beginning to end...real performances.

I've learned to trust my instincts and not to think at all about what I'm doing when I'm being recorded. I go in prepared with an arrangement in mind but I'm open to all the random possibilities or what we love to call "happy accidents" that end up bringing so much more to a song. Being spontaneous, with the clock ticking means...just do it.

We left Beach Road Studios with Rache's famous homemade donuts and were home by 9 PM. A few days later Siegfried sent us the mix. We loved it & said don't change a thing!

My son learned so much that day, and as always so did I.
